Stop Live Dog as Shark Bait!

Came across this in facebook.

Saw pictures of it, so gore.

I don't dare to watch the video. (T_T)

These people are totally inhumane, stray or not, these dogs doesn't deserve this.

And by the way, hunting for sharks is just as cruel as well!

Damn these chinese people (in general? and yes I am a chinese but I don't eat sharkfin, so I'm good) use shark's fin in their soup,(the one who invented this dish is ought to be shot) 

you know how these morons harvest their fins??

They catch them on boat, slash off its fin and dump the shark back into the sea.

Eventually the poor thing will bleed to death and die. Such cruelty....

"Live and dead dogs and cats are being used as shark bait by amateur fishers on the French-controlled island of Réunion, according to animal-welfare organizations and local authorities. 

The small volcanic island off Africa's east coast is bursting with stray dogs—upward of 150,000, says Reha Hutin, president of the Paris-based Fondation 30 Millions d'Amis (the Thirty Million Friends Foundation). 

Hutin sent a film crew to Réunion this summer to obtain proof that live animals were being used as shark bait. The goal was to expose the practice on the animal rights group's weekly television show. 

It didn't take long for the film crew to find three separate cases, she said. 

A videotape and photographs show the dogs with multiple hooks sunk deep into their paws and snouts." 
Innocent stray dogs are being skewered alive and being dragged behind boats as shark bait. Help us sign a letter to the French government to ask for an end to this inhumane practice in Reunion Island (French-controlled). We are asking the government to make sure this never happens again. Ridiculously cheap good eyeshadows

Was shopping in The Mines (Seri Kembangan) and found this shop 

'Sera Cosmetics' (next to Hot Market, 2nd floor)

selling amazingly good eyeshadows in array of 

colors for RM 5 each pan!

They even throw in a free sixer refill palatte (to hold the pans) if you purchase 6 colors or a free 12-colors pan refill palette if you purchase 12 colors.

All these plus a free clear lip gloss!

OMG!

It cost the same as Elianto's normal eyeshadow pan but this is 10x better.

It's very pigmented, creamy, shimmery (even without base) and stays on all day.

So if you are just experimenting or looking for alot of colors to play with, but are too poor (like me, sob) to purchase branded ones, this is heaven sent!

Apple Cider Vinegar + Green Tea Toner

Wahh my 100th post. (*≧▽≦) 

I've found the best toner ever and it doesn't even cost a dime!

Best of all, it really works and it's chemical & preservative free!

I've been using this for 3 weeks and my usual oil slick face are now less oily.

No blotting now for every 3 hours.

No major breakouts.

No crazy friggin' pizza face day.

This toner works best for oily skin. It's acidity is not suitable for dry skin.

Apple Cider Vinegar's acidity will naturally exfoliate, renew and balance skin's PH while Green Tea is loaded with anti-oxidants that aids anti-ageing.

All you need is :

Apple Cider Vinegar ( I use Bragg's Unfiltered ACV, I like em' au naturel)

Green Tea 

Glass bottle

I mix about 1/3 or 1 big spoonful of ACV into half cup of brewed green tea (cool it off first).

You don't have to make a full bottle, half of it should be enough.

I changed mine fresh after 2 weeks.

Caution!

Use sunblock everyday because the ACV mixture will make your skin thinner and more susceptible to sun damage.

I've always like Ne-Yo's abillity to weave stories into his music just like Taylor Swift. (He also penned for other artists such as Beyonce's 'Irreplaceable' and Rihanna's 'Take A Bow')  

Songwriting & production wise, I think he excels better than his peers & throughout the album, he is capable of bringing you an array of emotions.

Each songs tells a story, I'm sure there are at least one of it that applies to you, haha.

Like Miss Independent =  he's attracted to independent girls, 

Fade Into The Background = his ex is getting married and he's regretting of the missed opportunity,

Lie To Me = refuse to believe that his girlfriend is cheating on him.

My fav: I wanna say the whole album! But oh well... Miss Independent, Nobody, Single, So You Can Cry, Fade Into The Background, Lie To Me

Taylor Swift - Fearless

As I have previously raved about this album, this girl is super talented and wise beyond her years! Congrats girl on being debuted number #1 on Billboard! Her lyrics is like she's writing a personal diary, perfectly constructed, story begins and ends. 

A line of lyrics from Hey Stephen where she sings about a crush on this guy (said to be written about Love & Theft band member, Stephen Barker Liles) - "All those other girls, well they're beautiful but would they write a song for you?" so cool right?? 

Forever and Always were written about (idiota) Joe Jonas,  but why waste time writing a song on him??

Change is included in the AT&T Team USA soundtrack and White Horse was in Grey's Anatomy season premiere.

My fav: Tempted to say all, but again, o well... White Horse, Love Story, The Way I Love You, You're Not Sorry, Fearless, Change

Beyonce - I Am... Sasha Fierce

Her latest album offers two compelling sides of her, which splits the album into 2 disc set, one being Beyonce, the romantic, soulful & mellow one and the other being Sasha Fierce, sexy & agressive. Her first 2 singles from each disc, If I Were A Boy & Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) kicks off with a pretty good vibe but somehow this album has a rather lukewarm reviews saying this is purely marketing gimmick. Marketing gimmick or not, there are quite a number of good tracks! 

My fav: If I Were A Boy, Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), Halo, Disappear, Ave Maria, Diva, Radio

James Morrison - Songs For You, Truths For Me

All the album I've posted here are good lah, so this is no exception. His 1st single You Make It Real from the album is so sweet you wish your man would sing it to you aye, hehe.

Something about his raspy & breathy voice makes him a perfect combo with his tunes. The pairing with Nelly Furtado in Broken Strings was quite suprising. 

His raspy voice and her high pitch vocal creates variety. The song is itself is pretty strong and meaningful. Nothing Ever Hurt Like You is outstanding with old-school vintage, soul and soft rock.

My Fav : You Make It Real, Broken Strings, The Only Night, Nothing Ever Hurt Like You, Fix The World Up For You, Dream On Hayley

Britney Spears - Circus

This album is pretty good, very Britney. You can actually feel like she's gettin' grip on her life & taking music seriously now. Some media said she recycled her stuff in this album 

(ex: the song Radar is in her Blackout & Circus album or tracks in Circus have similarity with her previous efforts)

but being Britney = pop princess, you know you'll be getting pop stuff, what 'something different' you want from her people? R&B? Give her a break! I personally think this album rox!

Twilight review, new company and stuff

Officially saw TWILIGHT!

Sad to say, a lil' dissapointed.

Maybe my expectation was like skyrocketing high, but oh well.

The book describe the Cullens as if they are the most magnificent, beautiful being,

but the cast was like meh....ops... except for Carlisle Cullen, he was spot on.

Just as the book described him :D

Rosalie supposed to be the beautiful one among them...but eh...

Edward is oookay, thumbs up for the perfomance, but in looks department I totally think that they should choose Ben Barnes instead (*≧▽≦) 

(yes me & my ben-atic addiction)

Okay I know, he looks way over 17, so no go....

How about Chase Crawford? Perfect right?

Disney latest upcoming 3D animation, BOLT, 

which tells a story of a white German shepard, 

Bolt (voice by John Travolta), 

who is a superhero star in his action TV show.

He believes that he owns superpower and is on a quest to search for his owner, Penny (voice over by Miley Cyrus) when he got separated from the studio by accident.

Along his cross-country adventure, he met Mr.Mitten (who is actually a female cat - voice over by Susie Essman) and Rhino (voice over by Mark Walton) and realized that he is just a normal dog and doesn't need superpower to be a hero.

 

I'm very much into animation and can't wait to see whether this one are up to par as it's predecessor Kung Fu Panda & Wall.E

Overall from the trailer, my fav character has got to be Rhino the TV obsessed hamster who is stuck in a plastic ball.

I think he could easily steal the show!

Look at his big round eyes, lil' nose, two front teeth, big plump belly and being stuck in a plastic ball!

Cuteness to the max! He's like a brown furball, no?

Makes me wanna get a big fat hamster and stuff it in a plastic ball! (Juz kidding! no, don't report me!)

Pavlova

OMG! I have officially baked a cake!!

Not exactly a cake ( no flour) but a sophisticate but surprisingly easy PAVLOVA.

It is a meringue dessert consist of egg whites and sugar, and best of all, it is FAT FREE!

You won't go wrong when a klutz like me HAS SUCCEEDED in making this.

Here is my not so pretty but it taste like heaven PAVLOVA.

Since I doesn't have whipping cream or fresh fruits, I glazed the top with marmalade.

It is pretty adjustable, you can use other toppings like whipping cream with fresh berries, chocolate sauce (heaven!) or ice cream.

Ingredients

Meringue

6 egg whites (approx. 6 ounces)

1 cup of sugar ( can be reduced to your liking if you don't wanna get diabetes)

1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch

1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

1 teaspoon cream of tartar or 2 teaspoon of white wine vinegar

A pinch of salt

Toppings

Whipping cream

Fresh berries

(adjustable to your liking)

1. Preheat oven to 300°
   
2. Stir cornstarch into the sugar in a small bowl and place it aside
   
3. Whip egg whites, cream of tartar and salt with an electronic mixer for 2 - 3 minutes
   
4. Gradually add in sugar-cornstarch mix into the mixture
   
5. Slowly add in vanilla essence and vinegar (if you are not using cream of tartar)
   
6. Increase the speed and whip till the meringue is glossy and the sugar is dissolved ( approx. 5 minutes)
7. Pour mixture into a flat pie pan
8. Bake for 30 minutes
9. When it is done, turn off oven and let it sit to 'cool off'. The meringue should be a little tan and firm to touch.
10. After it cools off, you will notice cracks of the inside are all marshmallowey (yum!)
11. Decorate with your favourite toppings!
12. Ta-dah! No fuss baking!

I have assignments to summit! omg.... and I thought I have  grown out of that last-minute-assignment-submission phrase, well... apparently not.

I am still procrastinating, not that I don't enjoy doing my assignments, but anyhoo, will get to it asap!

O yeah, I got a job offer like few weeks ago! (which I accepted!)

Right after my 2nd interview, when I was on my way home, they called and offered me the job!

Not gonna start working till my classes finishes.

Honeymooning now till 17th Nov, woot!

After 4 months of idling, I am finally back to the workforce!

I am so friggin grateful!

I have never been this glad (work related). 

I would never wish for staying in on my cozy bed again when I have to get up early for work (a jinx? coz I get to do that for 4 months straight after wishing that... so no need to get all jealous)

These 4 months really passed me by in a flash.

Which I no complaints because during this period, I went through so many emotions, particularly not memorable ones.

Thank you Lord for your unfailing love, many times when the very-weak-me failed you in many ways, making empty promises, and yet you always watched over me and stood by my side.

My family for being my support system, erasing all my negative vibes.

My friends as my comforter, preventing me from being a social recluse (not going out for a month can do you serious damage!)

Guess who I accidentally met?

Went to Pavillion KL for some serious (window) shopping with moi girls, Feeling & Nicole over the weekend.

Then we came across this group where this cute guy were surrounded by a few big burly giants. 

The cute guy looks familiar but my brain was quite disoriented right then by all of the shopping.

The group stopped us, all smiley as one of the big guys approached and mumble something to Nicole while passing a flyer to her.

After the group moved on, I was telling my frens that the cute guy looks soooo darn familiar.. 

and we checked the flyer to see what it's all about...

OMG!! The cute guy that we just saw was Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees (who's abit short in real life, haha) who had practically just stopped and smiled (maybe he did mumbled abit too, I'm not too sure)  at us!!

It's not everyday you can meet a celeb aye? :D 

But gimme Lee Hom anyday, 

I will worship the ground he walks on :D

Fried Seaweed with Minced Meat

Steamed Pumpkin Cake

Aye, they look pretty ok right? 

You bet they taste ok too?

Wrong, they are AWFUL.

Seaweed's too watery.

I'm greedy (normal human nature?) coz' I wanted more gravy.

Pumpkin cake's too lumpy with lumps of flour.

I didn't really mixed the flour with the pumpkin enough. (hey, my hand almost detach from my body from all of the mixing =_=;)

The mag that shown this recipe lied. 

It says 'easy & fast recipe' but there are so many work!

Clean pumpkin. Cut pumpkin into half. Deseed pumpkin. Slice pumpkin. Cut pumpkin into cubes. Steam pumpkin. Mash pumpkin.

That's only the pumpkin part.

The rest you can use your imagination.

As much as I love cook books ( I love purchasing and reading them),

cooking is such a hassle!!

• Lengthen and voluminous lashes by approx 5 sweeps - looks natural, not dramatic
• Doesn't clump
• Decent brush
• Easy to remove
• Waterproof

Disadvantages

• Not a quick drying formula, as a result, when I blink (after waiting for good 30secs), a mess!
• At the end of the day (after about 6 hours) I notice some slight smudges

Recommended? Not really, the slow drying part is a big turn off, this mascara has been deserted and replaced by my fav Estee Lauder mascara (love!).

Advantages

• At 1st I was worried that I would look ghastly in this because of it's grayish pigment but surprisingly it's pretty natural on skin.
  
• Breeze application because of it's gel-like formula.
• Good oil-control given if you use primer or make up base before the BB cream.
  
• Gives a pretty natural look unlike Gowoonsesang that I've tested on which is quite thick and murky.
  
• Not sure bout' all the goodness it claims, but so far I have not break out at all while using this.
  

Disdvantages

• Quite sheer, you need concealer to cover redness & dark circles.

Recommended? Yeap

Jay Chau's 9th album based on his zodiac 'Capricorn' and his current fascination with illusion. He did it again! Brilliant music and lyrics arrangement. Been listening to his album like everyday, so addictive! Ok, if you are threatening me with a butcher's knife, I would have to pick Lan Ting Xu.

So hauntingly beautiful and mesmerizing & if I'm not wrong, 

it opens with erhu (Chinese violin) and a choir of backups in the chorus. All of that really made the song so damn beautiful, although I don't really get the meaning of the song @_@ 

Can I pick 1 more one too?? Shuo hao de xing fu ne reminds me of something that happened recently, if not always! ya, pretty sad right, you people shud care about me more! :D

So yea, tat song has a place in my heart... and brain for now! :)

His metaphoric, imagery, poetic & full of emotions lyric are sometimes kinda hard for a banana like me to comprehend. (I suck =_=; )
