Since Valentine's Day fell on the same day as 1st day of Chinese New Year, we celebrated ours on the 17th Feb! Not to say really celebrate la, just going to some posh place having good food, but of course, the one who accompanies you is all that matters :)

That day we had the whole restaurant to ourselves & the owner herself serving us!

All her staff is on hols.

Cupcakes for V-day!

Im usually not that cheesy, hardworking & I have never baked cupcakes before in my life!

But oh well, decided to do something special since it's our 1st Valentine together.

It's super easy, you can take short cuts like me, like getting a prepared cake mix & voila! guarantee edible hehe.

Prepare everything the box tells you to & do accordingly. Won't go wrong if you follow the instruction. (the cream chesse suppose to be for the frosting...opsss)

End result for the cake mix. Looks soooo chocolatey... me love!

Prepare the frosting. Ok the box doesn't teach you on how to do the frosting, so here's the recipe

1 block of cream cheese

1 1/2 cups icing sugar (I used 2 cups, turned out too sweet, make it lesser if you're health concious)

2/3 from a block of butter

2 tsp of vanilla extract

1 drop of red food coloring (for my pink coloured cupcakes)

1. Blend butter & cream cheese with mixer.

2. Slowly add in icing sugar.

3. Add in vanilla extract & food colouring if preffered.

End result should be like this. Smooth & creamy. You can just dip the top of your cupcake & twirl it. You can also pipe the frosting to create nice decor

Final result!! Ta da!! Guess the message, haha!

The extras for the family & my neighbour. I told them it's me wishing them Happy Valentine with these but they knew these are the extras & I need people to finish it up, but hey! it tasted good ok ^.^

Daiso haul!

If you have been following me on Twitter, you should that I'm madly obsessed with Daiso.

I felt happy just being there, looking at stuff over & over.

The ordeal would lasted AT LEAST one hour.

Probably because its a Japanese store (me love!), everything RM5 & alot kawaii, useful stuff.

If I mention to my boyfriend that I wanted to go to Daiso (he's my driver ^.^), my boyfriend will always give me that 'what?? again?? what you wanna buy wor??' look.

Frankly, I usually doesn't have a thing in mind on what I wanna get in Daiso but I always end up with something :P

Here's my latest haul!

Cushions & lavender sachet (for my car), flower puncher (to do my artsy-fartsy stuff), black eyelash glue (beauty stuff - for my false lashes, although I rarely use them, but hey! it's only RM5! Use black ones so it doesn't show), pie baking pan (I'm infected with a baking bug), pet toy (Micki's)

I'm itching to go again already!

New Year's Resolutions 2010

Most people like to make a list of resolutions every year, but whether u manage to fulfill it or not, is another thing :P There's always the same ones repeating every year , the ridiculous ones, the impossibles & the simple ones but it's fun putting up a list anyway.
I know I am abit late but nonetheless, here it is!

1. Pick up a new skill
I wanna learn photography! When I'm 60ish I wanna be able to look at those old photographs & say 'those were those days' =) (but the bf bet RM200 that I will only last for 3 months for this... such bf!)

Digital Scrapbooking is another fun way to document those memories with photos, memorabilia & stories. Since scrapbooking needs alot of materials & craft ideas, I do it the modern way with digital scrapbooking using Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, my forte :D

2. Eating healthily, make my own lunch
This is hard, you have to do the planning, groceries shopping & preparing it. But when I think of the canteen food > full of fried stuff, spicy oily sauces, yucky veges, only white rice... I think I will balloon into one of the 'before body size' of The Biggest Loser contestant in 3 months time.

3. Lose Weight
I believe this is on most women's list no matter how small or big you are. Hope to drop 2 or 3 dress size at least... hmph

4. Walk more
Shopping walks count? Yes, but then you down on those fast food or desserts on your shopping trips equals to 0. Oh well, I guess I will only carry Micki & walk around the block but time is always the factor preventing me to do so (=___=;;)

5. Blog more
Neglected this blog quite abit. Used to have a few entries per month, but nowadays it seems like it's only 1 entry for a month (=___=;;) I have loads of topics to blog about > restaurants I've visited, places I've been to & loads of product reviews. Again, time is always the factor + Astro + FB + TVB dramas >.<

6. Finish reading the whole Bible

I admit, I never finish the whole Bible before. Every starting of the year I will be so gungho to finish it but later then, slack after only a few weeks. My determination span is very weak de (=___=;;)

7. Saving up

As the old saying goes 'save for the rainy days' which is very true.

Bai bai shopping on impulse, bai bai shopping therapy, bai bai window shopping (T_T) wait!! window shopping is ok mahh right??

8. Learn Mandarin

I can't even write my own name in chinese to save my ass swt (=___=;;) I did try. I bought that box box exercise book for maths so I could practise but I got lazy. Such determination (=___=;;)

I am a Chinese! I should know how to read or at least hold a proper conversation in mandarin. (Im fluent in Canto thank God).

My sis has loads of awesome chinese manga & I can't read it at all T_T Flipping through it depresses me. Oh, my fav ViVi mag is in chinese too *depressed*
I did asked my parents 'ARRgghh! Why didn't send me to chinese skool?? Now I can't read these awesome manga!!' Their reply 'No nearby chinese skool lah tat time'. :(

Some people wud PROUDLY say " oh I am a banana, I ONLY speak english ok" *high nose* but puhleez la, its NOT cool!! oh well.. I need a teacher!!

9. Living Healthier

Sleep early, more veges, less sugary & fatty stuff, exercise, not stressing myself out, take it easy etc. you know the drill :)

That's all I can think of now, add more later XD

1ST

I know I should be thankful that I am alive, having an awesome family, cute pooches, a job that pays my bills & a seriously wonderful bf.

But seizure has been plaguing me since last year & I cant help but being depressed bout it. As humans always does, you always want to blame, asking the whys & etc right? On Nov adding dosage to my current medication were even more depressing. But after adding the dosage, there's improvement & not a single seizure coming on & I thought I was making good progress. Coming off the medication doesn't seem so far a distant, until i had one yesterday, a petit mal seizure. Totally crushed my self entertained glimpsed of hope resulting on a sleepless night.

Anyhoo, (spelt like that on purpose coz it tones down my seriousness) thinking back of the Haiti tragedy, I can't imagine how it felt for the survivors out there, injured, dehydrated, lost & helpless . I should be thankful for every moment that I am alive & still enjoying life.

My job.is.plain.boring.
But then, I've been saying that for every job I've been into ( so far i've changed 4 full time & been into 1 part time)
I wonder if there is any other job that would ever make me happy & entertained.

Many people stuck in lousy jobs just to pay bills. (I am no different)

Stuck in that same notion everyday. Don't know what they live for.

There's a huge difference between living life and simply existing.

I seriously don't want to spend the rest of my life by simply existing.

I want to live a living life.

Confusing? I thought so.

Man, a girl can really shop!

I love looking at people's loots...

So, here's mine from my Bangkok trip.

The skin stuff here. I am not crazy, my parents are. They are the one who want 10 tubes of Peppermint Field's gel. Lotions, masks, whitening cream, body butter, vanilla body mists (they are heavenly!), cleansing oil, eye serum,handcreams, my sis's fav thing in the world, peppermint inhaler, some thai magic oil (Siang Pure Oil), bought it purely because of influence haha

Miscellaneous stuff. Slipper (sucker for teddy bears), keychain souvenirs, hairbands, star hair clip (sucker for starry stuff), romance novel (I was bored at night), purple clutch, purple wallet, dog biscuit (they were cheap & good quality!), hair curlers from Daiso, MAC Fafi eyeshadow, blusher & gloss, large black belt, 80 denier black stocking, bling necklace, Micky's toothbrush, toothpaste & ear lotion (so many varieties & cheap!)

Clothes category, 2 dad's shirt, 1 big Elmo for me (weird infatuation for Elmo), vintage red T for sis, black & brownish grey short pants, longish black Tshirt, dresses & blouse for moi again, bikini (damn cheap!)

Food stuff. I love foodies! You can see that I love Pretz, anything that comes with stick form... yummmm (please don't think with your filthy mind), Pretz here costed only 12 baths = RM 1.20 in Bangkok, while back home in Malaysia it cost RM2.50!! omg!! Piglet cup noodles ( I love you Piglet!! it's a shame that you're banned from Malaysia, sob...), assorted thai snacks to please my relatives, Ritter Sport Dark Whole Hazelnuts (where would I be without you, oh chocolates~) - slightly cheaper, bought the orange manga girl instant noodle coz' it's kinda cute

My NaRaYa loots!! Thailand's famous bags & accessories shop.

All my bags loots!! Sis doesn't like her sling bag, damn...now I ended up with 3 bags..

My sexy LeSportSac backpack (frens said I look kiddish =_=;)

Eventually that brown bag belongs to mom, she's like 'omg!! so outdated!!'

so now it's officially belongs to my grandma =_=;

I wanna go back to Bangkok again!! Truly a shopping heaven!!

Plus, you can't beat that RM 13.90 head, shoulder & foot massage for 1 hour yo!!

I *heart* Bangkok!!

I've also bought Origins masks! Mask genius promo pack - Out of Trouble, Drink Up, Clear Improvement

All for RM 197 only!! I spent my last Baht in Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport. I went home Baht-less! haha

I think I've read too much romance novels.

Like, they have a sweet beginnings, then things started to get miserable & ends with sad endings or if you are lucky, happy ones.

I think maybe subconsciously I desire to be unhappy, whenever I am in a relationship.

Finding fault in every angle to the one who are close to me.

They always complaint that I am being unreasonable, pathetic, demanding & needy even.

There's one point, when I am acting like that...

Severing the relationship, hurting the other person emotionally,

he yelled back at me 'Who the hell you think you are? Some princess?'

Wow, that really wakes me up...

I can't help being that way.

I don't know why.

It's only when I look back, I'll be like "OMG, is that me??"

Okay, I didn't fall out of the face of the earth.

Just nothing inspiring, been busy with work & stuff.

These 2 months + haven't been exactly good or memorable I guess.

This has been bothering me for a while. (It happened almost 5 months ago)

I don't know why, some people change in a matter of seconds.

I can't barely recognized him anymore.

One minute I thought like I've known him forever, the other minute he's like a stranger.

Complete stranger.

We planned our future so much, and just overnight, all forgotten.

Why people change? They moved on, and you are left behind.

Chasing their shadows.

There you are, longing them to come back, but deep inside you know they never will.

It hurts. Like hell. It still do.

Hard to go on with life as usual.

When everything you do reminds you of him.

So, why people change?

It's scary.

Yeap peeps,after a long hiatus, I'm finally back into the blogging scene!

Didn't end 2008 with a bang,

sleeping in hospital bed instead.... looooong story.

Greeted 2009 with truckload of work, pathetic....

Anyways, I'm not being emo lah, life is a blast nevertheless.

In a good way!

Okay, here's the lowdown, which I don't know why you even bother to read instead of Youtube-ing.

I have a few seizures and the last one is on New Year's Eve.

Every aftermath it left me feeling tired and sick. No kidding.

So the last one was the worst. I don't know what's wrong & I never had seizures before,

so after a few times it happened, instinct kicks in & I went to see a doctor.

He's like so bizarre, all I want is a MC but he lectured me (coz' I told him I wanna go back to sleep instead of going to the hospital) and a letter to admit to hospital.

He even try to scare me by saying..'how can you take this lightly??! It might be a brain infection or a tumour!!'...

I was like..wookay... My dad was like... omg!!omg!! really???omg!!!!

So went to hospital and done all kind of tests.

Results: my left brain is the culprit! Scans detected that it's abnormal which made my system go haywire so now I'm on med. It's ok, but one of the side effects from the drug is gettin fatter...OMG!!

Apart from the long grandma's story I just typed,

I am really touch by the people who visited me.

Your visits means so much to me! Sob...sob... Coz I am so bored to the core! haha

Seriously, really 'gan tong' lor, never expected a stadium worth of ppl to visit me (ok Im exaggerating) & my family.... they . are . simply. amazing!

Tell your parents & siblings that you love them okay!

And peeps buy insurance!! Bloody hospital is so expensive!! My 3 days & 2 nights stint costed about RM2500+!!

Thank God my mum forced me to buy insurance a few years back.

If you happen to admit to the hospital, and you are insurance covered...

go to Gleneagles Hospital! (ok touch wood!!)

Damn syok lah! there's tv in front of yr bed, with Astro! and they serves you 5 meals a day!

Now move on,

These people are totally inhumane, stray or not, these dogs doesn't deserve this.

And by the way, hunting for sharks is just as cruel as well!

Damn these chinese people (in general? and yes I am a chinese but I don't eat sharkfin, so I'm good) use shark's fin in their soup,(the one who invented this dish is ought to be shot)

you know how these morons harvest their fins??

They catch them on boat, slash off its fin and dump the shark back into the sea.

Eventually the poor thing will bleed to death and die. Such cruelty....

"Live and dead dogs and cats are being used as shark bait by amateur fishers on the French-controlled island of Réunion, according to animal-welfare organizations and local authorities.

The small volcanic island off Africa's east coast is bursting with stray dogs—upward of 150,000, says Reha Hutin, president of the Paris-based Fondation 30 Millions d'Amis (the Thirty Million Friends Foundation).

Hutin sent a film crew to Réunion this summer to obtain proof that live animals were being used as shark bait. The goal was to expose the practice on the animal rights group's weekly television show.

It didn't take long for the film crew to find three separate cases, she said.

A videotape and photographs show the dogs with multiple hooks sunk deep into their paws and snouts."
Innocent stray dogs are being skewered alive and being dragged behind boats as shark bait. Help us sign a letter to the French government to ask for an end to this inhumane practice in Reunion Island (French-controlled). We are asking the government to make sure this never happens again. 'Sera Cosmetics' (next to Hot Market, 2nd floor)

selling amazingly good eyeshadows in array of

colors for RM 5 each pan!

They even throw in a free sixer refill palatte (to hold the pans) if you purchase 6 colors or a free 12-colors pan refill palette if you purchase 12 colors.

All these plus a free clear lip gloss!

OMG!

It cost the same as Elianto's normal eyeshadow pan but this is 10x better.

It's very pigmented, creamy, shimmery (even without base) and stays on all day.

So if you are just experimenting or looking for alot of colors to play with, but are too poor (like me, sob) to purchase branded ones, this is heaven sent!

Apple Cider Vinegar + Green Tea Toner

Wahh my 100th post. (*≧▽≦)

I've found the best toner ever and it doesn't even cost a dime!

Best of all, it really works and it's chemical & preservative free!

I've been using this for 3 weeks and my usual oil slick face are now less oily.

No blotting now for every 3 hours.

No major breakouts.

No crazy friggin' pizza face day.

This toner works best for oily skin. It's acidity is not suitable for dry skin.

Apple Cider Vinegar's acidity will naturally exfoliate, renew and balance skin's PH while Green Tea is loaded with anti-oxidants that aids anti-ageing.

All you need is :

Apple Cider Vinegar ( I use Bragg's Unfiltered ACV, I like em' au naturel)

Green Tea

Glass bottle

I mix about 1/3 or 1 big spoonful of ACV into half cup of brewed green tea (cool it off first).

You don't have to make a full bottle, half of it should be enough.

I changed mine fresh after 2 weeks.

Caution!

Use sunblock everyday because the ACV mixture will make your skin thinner and more susceptible to sun damage.

I've always like Ne-Yo's abillity to weave stories into his music just like Taylor Swift. (He also penned for other artists such as Beyonce's 'Irreplaceable' and Rihanna's 'Take A Bow')

Songwriting & production wise, I think he excels better than his peers & throughout the album, he is capable of bringing you an array of emotions.

Each songs tells a story, I'm sure there are at least one of it that applies to you, haha.

Like Miss Independent = he's attracted to independent girls,

Fade Into The Background = his ex is getting married and he's regretting of the missed opportunity,

Lie To Me = refuse to believe that his girlfriend is cheating on him.

My fav: I wanna say the whole album! But oh well... Miss Independent, Nobody, Single, So You Can Cry, Fade Into The Background, Lie To Me

Taylor Swift - Fearless

As I have previously raved about this album, this girl is super talented and wise beyond her years! Congrats girl on being debuted number #1 on Billboard! Her lyrics is like she's writing a personal diary, perfectly constructed, story begins and ends.

A line of lyrics from Hey Stephen where she sings about a crush on this guy (said to be written about Love & Theft band member, Stephen Barker Liles) - "All those other girls, well they're beautiful but would they write a song for you?" so cool right??

Forever and Always were written about (idiota) Joe Jonas, but why waste time writing a song on him??

Change is included in the AT&T Team USA soundtrack and White Horse was in Grey's Anatomy season premiere.

My fav: Tempted to say all, but again, o well... White Horse, Love Story, The Way I Love You, You're Not Sorry, Fearless, Change

Beyonce - I Am... Sasha Fierce

Her latest album offers two compelling sides of her, which splits the album into 2 disc set, one being Beyonce, the romantic, soulful & mellow one and the other being Sasha Fierce, sexy & agressive. Her first 2 singles from each disc, If I Were A Boy & Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) kicks off with a pretty good vibe but somehow this album has a rather lukewarm reviews saying this is purely marketing gimmick. Marketing gimmick or not, there are quite a number of good tracks!

My fav: If I Were A Boy, Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), Halo, Disappear, Ave Maria, Diva, Radio

James Morrison - Songs For You, Truths For Me

All the album I've posted here are good lah, so this is no exception. His 1st single You Make It Real from the album is so sweet you wish your man would sing it to you aye, hehe.

Something about his raspy & breathy voice makes him a perfect combo with his tunes. The pairing with Nelly Furtado in Broken Strings was quite suprising.

His raspy voice and her high pitch vocal creates variety. The song is itself is pretty strong and meaningful. Nothing Ever Hurt Like You is outstanding with old-school vintage, soul and soft rock.

My Fav : You Make It Real, Broken Strings, The Only Night, Nothing Ever Hurt Like You, Fix The World Up For You, Dream On Hayley

Britney Spears - Circus

This album is pretty good, very Britney. You can actually feel like she's gettin' grip on her life & taking music seriously now. Some media said she recycled her stuff in this album

(ex: the song Radar is in her Blackout & Circus album or tracks in Circus have similarity with her previous efforts)

but being Britney = pop princess, you know you'll be getting pop stuff, what 'something different' you want from her people? R&B? Give her a break! I personally think this album rox!

Officially saw TWILIGHT!

Sad to say, a lil' dissapointed.

Maybe my expectation was like skyrocketing high, but oh well.

The book describe the Cullens as if they are the most magnificent, beautiful being,

but the cast was like meh....ops... except for Carlisle Cullen, he was spot on.

Just as the book described him :D

Rosalie supposed to be the beautiful one among them...but eh...

Edward is oookay, thumbs up for the perfomance, but in looks department I totally think that they should choose Ben Barnes instead (*≧▽≦)

Disney latest upcoming 3D animation, BOLT,

which tells a story of a white German shepard,

Bolt (voice by John Travolta),

who is a superhero star in his action TV show.

He believes that he owns superpower and is on a quest to search for his owner, Penny (voice over by Miley Cyrus) when he got separated from the studio by accident.

Along his cross-country adventure, he met Mr.Mitten (who is actually a female cat - voice over by Susie Essman) and Rhino (voice over by Mark Walton) and realized that he is just a normal dog and doesn't need superpower to be a hero.

I'm very much into animation and can't wait to see whether this one are up to par as it's predecessor Kung Fu Panda & Wall.E

Overall from the trailer, my fav character has got to be Rhino the TV obsessed hamster who is stuck in a plastic ball.

I think he could easily steal the show!

Look at his big round eyes, lil' nose, two front teeth, big plump belly and being stuck in a plastic ball!

OMG! I have officially baked a cake!!

Not exactly a cake ( no flour) but a sophisticate but surprisingly easy PAVLOVA.

It is a meringue dessert consist of egg whites and sugar, and best of all, it is FAT FREE!

You won't go wrong when a klutz like me HAS SUCCEEDED in making this.

Here is my not so pretty but it taste like heaven PAVLOVA.

Since I doesn't have whipping cream or fresh fruits, I glazed the top with marmalade.

It is pretty adjustable, you can use other toppings like whipping cream with fresh berries, chocolate sauce (heaven!) or ice cream.

Ingredients

Meringue

6 egg whites (approx. 6 ounces)

1 cup of sugar ( can be reduced to your liking if you don't wanna get diabetes)

1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch

1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

1 teaspoon cream of tartar or 2 teaspoon of white wine vinegar

A pinch of salt

Toppings

Whipping cream

Fresh berries

(adjustable to your liking)

Preheat oven to 300°
Stir cornstarch into the sugar in a small bowl and place it aside
Whip egg whites, cream of tartar and salt with an electronic mixer for 2 - 3 minutes
Gradually add in sugar-cornstarch mix into the mixture
Slowly add in vanilla essence and vinegar (if you are not using cream of tartar)
Increase the speed and whip till the meringue is glossy and the sugar is dissolved ( approx. 5 minutes)
Pour mixture into a flat pie pan
Bake for 30 minutes
When it is done, turn off oven and let it sit to 'cool off'. The meringue should be a little tan and firm to touch.
After it cools off, you will notice cracks of the inside are all marshmallowey (yum!)
Decorate with your favourite toppings!
Ta-dah! No fuss baking!

I have assignments to summit! omg.... and I thought I have grown out of that last-minute-assignment-submission phrase, well... apparently not.

I am still procrastinating, not that I don't enjoy doing my assignments, but anyhoo, will get to it asap!

O yeah, I got a job offer like few weeks ago! (which I accepted!)

Right after my 2nd interview, when I was on my way home, they called and offered me the job!

Not gonna start working till my classes finishes.

Honeymooning now till 17th Nov, woot!

After 4 months of idling, I am finally back to the workforce!

I am so friggin grateful!

I have never been this glad (work related).

I would never wish for staying in on my cozy bed again when I have to get up early for work (a jinx? coz I get to do that for 4 months straight after wishing that... so no need to get all jealous)

These 4 months really passed me by in a flash.

Which I no complaints because during this period, I went through so many emotions, particularly not memorable ones.

Thank you Lord for your unfailing love, many times when the very-weak-me failed you in many ways, making empty promises, and yet you always watched over me and stood by my side.

My family for being my support system, erasing all my negative vibes.

My friends as my comforter, preventing me from being a social recluse (not going out for a month can do you serious damage!)

Went to Pavillion KL for some serious (window) shopping with moi girls, Feeling & Nicole over the weekend.

Then we came across this group where this cute guy were surrounded by a few big burly giants.

The cute guy looks familiar but my brain was quite disoriented right then by all of the shopping.

The group stopped us, all smiley as one of the big guys approached and mumble something to Nicole while passing a flyer to her.

After the group moved on, I was telling my frens that the cute guy looks soooo darn familiar..

and we checked the flyer to see what it's all about...

OMG!! The cute guy that we just saw was Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees (who's abit short in real life, haha) who had practically just stopped and smiled (maybe he did mumbled abit too, I'm not too sure) at us!!

It's not everyday you can meet a celeb aye? :D

Fried Seaweed with Minced Meat

Steamed Pumpkin Cake

Aye, they look pretty ok right?

You bet they taste ok too?

Wrong, they are AWFUL.

Seaweed's too watery.

I'm greedy (normal human nature?) coz' I wanted more gravy.

Pumpkin cake's too lumpy with lumps of flour.

I didn't really mixed the flour with the pumpkin enough. (hey, my hand almost detach from my body from all of the mixing =_=;)

The mag that shown this recipe lied.

It says 'easy & fast recipe' but there are so many work!

Clean pumpkin. Cut pumpkin into half. Deseed pumpkin. Slice pumpkin. Cut pumpkin into cubes. Steam pumpkin. Mash pumpkin.

That's only the pumpkin part.

The rest you can use your imagination.

As much as I love cook books ( I love purchasing and reading them),

cooking is such a hassle!!

Waterproof

Disadvantages

Not a quick drying formula, as a result, when I blink (after waiting for good 30secs), a mess!
At the end of the day (after about 6 hours) I notice some slight smudges

Recommended? Not really, the slow drying part is a big turn off, this mascara has been deserted and replaced by my fav Estee Lauder mascara (love!).

Advantages

At 1st I was worried that I would look ghastly in this because of it's grayish pigment but surprisingly it's pretty natural on skin.
Breeze application because of it's gel-like formula.
Good oil-control given if you use primer or make up base before the BB cream.
Gives a pretty natural look unlike Gowoonsesang that I've tested on which is quite thick and murky.
Not sure bout' all the goodness it claims, but so far I have not break out at all while using this.

Disdvantages

Quite sheer, you need concealer to cover redness & dark circles.

Recommended? Yeap

Forensic Heroes II ( 法證先鋒II)

So damn good and I promise you that you won't regret watching!

The current one I am watching is 'On the First Beat 学警出更' on Astro Wah Lai Toi (channel 311, 9.30pm).

This is a sequel from 'The Academy' which I pretty much enjoyed watching
because Ron Ng Cheuk Hei & Sammul Chan Kin Fung are in it.
Both of them are my fav! Ahhhh cool guys :D

Anyhoo, just watched epi 2... kinda hating it already!

It's that time again for some rantings!

INTERNET
Recently my comp decided to pissed me off simultaneously.
1st the router got fried, don't know how the hell it happened but one fine day when I turned it on, it 'farted' a rather funky smell and went dead omg.
Changed it to new a one.

Next up, my stupid network card decided to not let me online.
My life depends on it ok! Someone please shoot me.
Well, I figured after it has serve me for good 5 years +... it has pretty much done its job.
Time for a new one.
So, changed it to new a one.

Now, most of the stuff to get me online are spankin' new...
Should be no hay problema for me to get online asap aye!
WRONG!!!!!!!!!
It shows 'Limited or no connectivity' when the status show it's connected!!! WTF!!!
Pissed to the max!

Spent two days consecutively to fix the damn thing.
Called my ISP but they said I am connected to them pretty well! omg what's wrong???!!
Ugh, have to send my com to the shop later... (blogging through the office's net now... heh)

*UPDATE*
I am back online at home now!! Yay!!
The trip to the computer shop cost me RM 183 T.T sob...
Turns out that my NEW router got stroke by lightning and is faulty now.
My NEW router!! Barely 2 weeks!!
I can send it to the shop where I bought it but I won't get it back till like few months after.
I don't think I can survive another minute without internet.
So I got another new router + a voltage regulator (peeps buy this!!)
I am pissed poor now T.T

So super excited to watch it!! Fans of Clamp must watch this!!

Some excerpts are copied from other webbie... I am too lazy to think.

The plotline concerns a high school student, Kimihiro Watanuki, who can see spirits and demons. He enters a wish-granting shop run by a powerful witch, Ichihara Yuko, who agrees to grant Watanuki's wish to stop seeing sprits and demons in exchange for working as her hired hand. Her errands expose Watanuki and his friends to the diverse paranormal and metaphysical situations around them. The plot differs slightly between the manga and anime adaptation, but the general plotline is consistent between the two.

The ones I am currently watching:

Yakitate!! Ja-pan

Yakitate!! Japan (焼きたて!! ジャぱん meaning "Freshly Baked!! Ja-pan", the "pan" also meaning "bread" in Japanese). The plot revolves on Azuma Kazuma who is on a quest to create the perfect bread to represent Japan internationally. Now, he seeks to enter the famous bakery Pantasia, in hopes of reaching his goal.
Although the story has baking as its main theme, the parts that generate the most interest are the outrageous puns in the story. Especially notable are the "reaction" based puns made by the judges, who go to great lengths to prove a single point about the bread that they had tasted. The series in general also pokes fun at the shōnen genre's tendency to be melodramatic over mundane tasks.
Eh, when I read the manga I am so tempted to make bread from the recipes shown!! Are they even edible???
Their 'reactions' are so damn funny!!

Sergeant Keroro

Both the manga and the anime focus on the steadily deteriorating conditions of the Keroro Platoon, a group of two-foot-tall frog-like invaders from the planet Keron, who try to conquer the world, but fail miserably. The platoon's leader, Sergeant Keroro, is easily distracted, and would rather spend his time making plastic Gundam models and surfing the Internet than destroying Earth, much to the chagrin of the bellicose corporal, Giroro. Aside from Keroro's laziness, what most stands in the way of their mission is the Hinata Family, a trio of rather benign humans who keep Keroro busy with ridiculous demands and constant abuse, primarily from the family daughter Natsumi.

Kyo Kara Maoh! (God? Save Our King!)

Yuri Shibuya was living a pretty normal life. That changed the day he was dunked into a toilet after an attempt to save a classmate from a gang of bullies. Instead of just getting a good soaking, he's pulled in.
The next thing he knows, he's in a world that vaguely resembles medieval Europe. If that's not odd enough, he's told that he is to be the next Maoh, just because he has black hair and black eyes.
The Maoh is the King of the Mazoku, who are coexisting not-so-peacefully with the humans in this world.
Much to his subjects' dismay, he's totally different from the rulers they're accustomed to. He's kind, considerate, a believer in justice, and not willing to use violence to solve conflicts. Not exactly someone they want running a country on the very brink of war. Now, Yuri has to deal with trying to become a good Maoh, while at the same time attempting to adapt to this lands' customs and culture, all in a world where the tension between the humans and Mazoku is reaching its peak.

It's been a while since I've done some girly review!
Here are some Buff'd Cosmetics samples which I ordered ages ago.
After a month long of anticipation and no mail in sight I emailed their customer service about it.
Apparently my loot got lost in the mail but the kind Jennifer from Buff'd mailed me back again what I've ordered.
O yeah, I ordered from SheSpace also. No luck on that one... they got lost in the mail too, wtf! but Heather prefer to send me back my cash instead. So no piggies for me to play with :(
Oh well, I swatched the Buff'd samples that I've ordered.

They came in this lil' ziplock baggies.
10grams for all foundations (all in concealing formula), 4 grams for that 'Mint' color corrector, 4 grams 'Coral' mineral setting powder and 3 grams for 'Bouquet' mineral blush. (setting powder & blush are free! me love free stuff ^^) click for larger view

I think I have my match in Wool & Sungrass or maybe I should mix this 2 up and see what new shade I can get :D
They are pretty concealing and waterproof!! I tried to wash these stuff with water from my wrist and it just stay put!! Not bad aye!
The mineral setting powder, Coral, is not for me. I don't like orangey stuff, they made me look.... weird.
The Bouquet blush is so pretty! I love pinks and it contains silvery shimmer too.

I also have tons of other new stuff that I 'should' review on? OMG why am I so lazy???

My 4 days stint in Singapore

I decided to go and try my luck in Singapore since there's not much in KL.

I arrange my interviews and got a Transnational bus ticket.
The bus service was quite good. On time and comfortable.
The only thing that sucks is, they left me stranded at the Singapore Customs.
I don't know why it is so crowded! 'People mountain, people sea' okay!
So I got through after an hour of waiting in line and Transnational left me stranded, cold & lonely.
So my fren asked me to board another bus to Bugis where she'll meet me there.

To cut the long story short, I like Singapore!
-If you are earning Sing dollar, the stuff there are like friggin' cheap!
-More shopping!! *big wet happy eyes*
-There was one time I bought this watermelon soyabean drink (yum~) and just stroll around alone in Tao Payoh center & it was so enjoyable! I don't think I can stroll around that leisurely, open air in KL lor. (we all know why...)
-I also like the public libraries available there! Not just one! I saw a few during my trip!
Good news for a cheapo bookworm like me who is too poor to buy new books :D (i know it contradicts with the part on me being a shopaholic...but focus on me being poor okay! :D)
-The transport system kick arse! I've never gotten lost before while I am there. It is so convenient to travel around. In KL if you don't own a car, you go no where.
-People there are generally nice. The interviewers especially! so nice! KL ones suck...

Ahhh after all the good stuff, there must be a lil bit of trashing right? That's the universal format.
-I'm crashing at my fren's place and she has like 9 other apartment-mate. 10 people in a small apartment! I can hardly breathe.
-I can't imagine sharing a room with a stranger ( or a few strangers!) but the rent there is skyrocketing expensive!
-The food, I can say... meh.... and KL is truly a food haven :D Don't believe me? Come over and I'll show you!

All in all, I am glad I 've made it there alone and it was a great experience!
And my friends! who made my stay so much more pleasant & lovely...muahhhs!

On being jobless...

So, quick update (okay, maybe not that quick).

Been rottening at home for almost 2 months!
Totally broke my record of 1 week.
The shortest one was only 2 days!
Why am I rottening?
Nah... I don't wanna get on the details on how I got to the stage where I am rottening now.

So, on being jobless...

At 1st it was pretty good.
1. I don't need to set alarm (which I usually hit snooze when it rings anyway)
2. TV marathon babe!
3. Shopping!
4. Movies at the cinema!
5. No more work stress!

Then after one week, it all sank in.
1. It sucks when everyone in your family goes to work and you sleeps in. It made me looked lazy!
2. I was bored to death.
3. TV is evil. It rob your time & time is precious.
4. Shopping alone is no fun. I keep on thinking that people look at me while I was shopping alone at working hour is because they knew I'm jobless? or is it just me?
5. Movies alone at the cinema sucks. It made me looked very ke lian. Same case with eating out alone.
6. I feel so useless. Can't help it since all I do is eat, sleep, internet (chatting with frens, hardly productive) and watching TV.
7. My bank account is drying out. Thus, not much shopping for me. That sucks big time ok!
8. Being a slacker totally made me slacks more. (Not my fault!)
9. No motivation to do anything else.
10. It is embarrassing? Or is it just me?

So there, the cons outweighs the pros. x 2!

Btw, I don't sit on my arse all day.

This movie can do so much better & have it's potential.
Flop number 1 - at first Zi Yuan (Michelle Yeoh) read that bones script thingy in Sanskrit right? Why the heck does she read it in English for the second round?!
Second flop, Zi Yuan and Lin converse in Mandarin at first right? Why converse in English later on?? So inconsistent.

Sighhhhhhhh....Not as good as I'd hope it would and is there actually any mummy at all?? *spoiler alert!!* I think they are just a bunch of resurrected Chinese armies. *i warned ya!!spoilers!!* The best part about this movie is the ass kicking Yetis! They look so cute with their sparkling blue eyes~ Anyways, i think they over abused the CGIs...3 headed dragon & some other ugly beasts??Aww cmon!! Gimme mummy!!That's what I paid to watch!!

Oh well, it's enough to keep you entertained but you won't wanna watch this again.

For those who knows me well will know that I'm super ga-ga for vampires!! I'm super excited that Twilight has been made into a movie but it will only due in December :( 5 more months to go! so loooong, feels like eternity!!!

Anyways, my vampire expedition starts off with 'Interview with the Vampire : The Vampire Chronicles' movie (loaded with lots of hunky actors), various romance novels on vampire love, 'Underworld' & 'Van Helsing' movies, 'Moonlight' TV series (Mike St. John is so cute!), and then to Twilight book series. Now they are making Twilight into a movie!! Im super thrilled!

Batman : The Dark Knight

I was pretty reluctant to watch this because, 1st- the trailer looks terrifying because I'm scared of clowns (yes, it is sad-long story) & 2nd- it made me sad knowing that Heath Ledger which I super adores in the movie '10 Things I Hate About You' that I watched like 10 times... are not here anymore.

Anyhow, I went and watched it because I knew I would regret it if I don't. I got to say this movie is so worth it, sans the long screen timing, it's amazingly awesome! Complex, twisted, thrilling, certainly dark, an amazing plot & great array of actors! As for actress, Maggie Gyllenhaal, I would say she fairs better than Katie Holmes did in the previous ones. The part where she (spoiler alert!!)... died, I seriously thinks that it is totally appropriate because it would conclude to a climax to the other 3 characters, Batman, Joker & Two-Faced (Harvey Dent) without her being in the way. (sorry Rachel Dawes!)

On the lighter note, as usual, this is no exception on me raving on handsome guys :D OMG!!!! Christian Bale is sooooo cool & manly, and he kick asses too!

Seriously, everyone should watch this, after all, this is the last work of a talented actor who will be truly missed.

A tribute was given to Heath Ledger and Conway Wickliffe ( a special effect technician who was killed while performing a stunt during the set) at the end of the movie.

Hellboy II : The Golden Army

Hellboy II has certainly exceeded its predecessor with its precision visual effects, CGI, concrete plot, humorous characters, quirky lines & its splendidly imaginative monsters! The fact that the humor part is injected throughout the movie makes it totally enjoyable. The action scenes was just as good.

I was kinda sad that at the end Prince Nuada & Princess Nuala ............ (spoiler!!!) My spotlight is on Prince Nuada, not your typical kind of bad guy. His motivations are noble but done in a tragic way. The chemistry between Abe & Princess Nuala are so innocent & pure, Im in awe~ haha. Johann Krauss is annoying... at first. The 'Troll Market' amazed me! Remarkable level of detail in every corner.

Can anyone let me know where I can get that song 'Can't Smile Without You', a duet by Abe & Hellboy? It will totally rock my day! :D

The preview of this movie is certainly nicely done. After watching it, I felt being cheated? I have high expectations for this but this movie is like meh~ Poor execution, lame plot, lack of originality, vain effort to be funny & failed to be exciting or intriguing beyond it's setup. It's a shame that they have big stars, big budget & good ideas but failed to impress.

Oh how I love Korean chick flick!
This is your typical staple of chick flick.
An enjoyable watch.
The eye candy, Daniel Henney is definitely a big bonus!
How come I've never come across this hottie before? 1 word... Wow! & *jaw dropped*
His lines is the best English dialogs I've ever heard in a Korean movie before!
No it's not the dialogs.
It's the way he talks.

I've finally got an iMac at work!!! Yay!!!
